Blood letting activity sponsored by Congresswoman Nancy Catamco

Kidapawan City = Around 128 bags of blood were gathered last July 30 at Kidapawan city during the blood letting activity which was sponsored by Congresswoman Nancy Catamco, Barangay Healh Workers and Kidapawan City Blood Center. This program of Cong. Catamco signifies her sincere concern on the growing cases of dengue and other diseases that threatens the life of every Cotabateneos.

Last few months, the Provincial Health office registered almost two thousand cases of dengue cases and Kidapawan city leads the statistics in an alarming level. With the situation, the 2nd congressional office executed effort to coordinate with all line agencies in order to come up with an immediate action which could help prevent any mortality cases due to dengue fever.

The active participation of around 228 BHWs of the city of Kidapawan matters so much to the success of said activity. Every BHW bring one blood donor, however some didn’t qualify due to standard procedure religiously observe by the blood bank volunteers.

According to Jocelyn C. Etulle-Encienzo MD, city health officer and Ms. Esteban officer-in-charge of the KCBC they always adhere the safety of both blood donors and the patients who may be recipients of the blood extracted. They also appreciate the support of Cong. Catamco extended to them.

Lastly, Cong. Catamco salutes to all blood donors for their unselfish effort of sharing their blood to the new life of those patients whom needed most their blood. (73110-BCA)
