210 Cotabato student leaders join leadership peace camp, had solidarity lunch with Gov. Taliño-Mendoza
210 student leaders coming from public and private high schools from the 17 municipalities and 1 city of Cotabato province
registered in the 1st Gov. Emmylou Taliño-Mendoza High School Leadership Peace Camp scheduled from December 1 to 3, 2011 at the capitol grounds, Amas , Kidapawan City.
The leadership peace camp is another initiative of the present administration to guide the participants through an exploration of non-violent principles and an analysis of social change and peace building.
Lectures and inputs prepared for the participants who were divided into 4 groups include Journey to Self/Personality Profile/Self-Discovery, Understanding Cultural Diversity, How Government Works, and Environment and Global Climate Change: Going Beyond.
Governor Emmylou Taliño-Mendoza today tendered a solidarity lunch for the participants comprised of 36 tribal youth, 51 Muslims and 133 Christians.
The governor challenged the future leaders to remain disciplined and courageous in their studies and avoid distractions in their pursuit of higher education.
Tonight, the participants will have a socialization program with the theme “Kultura ng mga Kabataan Ngayon.”
At the closing program tomorrow, awards for leadership, most active/participative and cleanest quarters will be given out.
20 teachers-facilitators and 15 resource persons from the Department of Education are co-managing this 3-day activity with the facilitators/lecturers coming from the provincial government offices of Cotabato. //vdb-pgo-idcd//
