US relief org gives CotabatoProv medical supplies, equipment

Amas, Kidapawan City – Placed inside a container van, a package of medical supplies and hospital equipment amounting to US$300,000 were delivered at the Provincial Capitol recently as an aid from the World Medical Relief (WMR) based in Detroit, Michigan, USA to the provincial government.

In a turn-over ceremony at the Provincial Capitol Lobby, WMR Designated Coordinator Dr. David Lee Zarate lauded Cotabato Governor Emmylou “Lala” J. Taliño-Mendoza for making health one of the primary concerns of her administration, of which, he said, is not a common thing on political leaders.

In her message, the governor said the provincial government shouldered the shipping cost and other delivery transport fees from Michigan to the province.

She also thanked WMR for being of help to her administration’s commitment to improve health services especially in government hospitals here.

She said, the donated items will be distributed to the eight government hospitals which include the district hospitals in the towns of Mlang, Tulunan, Arakan, Fr. Tulio Favali District Hospital in Tulunan, Dr. Amado Diaz Provincial Foundation Hospital in Midsayap provincial community hospitals in Alamada and Pres. Roxas, and the Cotabato Provincial Hospital located near the provincial capitol.

Governor Taliño-Mendoza also mentioned the on-going expansion of the provincial hospital worth P3M and provision of vehicle for the continuing medical mission conducted by the Integrated Provincial Health Office (IPHO) to various far flung areas in the province.

The package include some hospital beds and mattresses, walkers, crutches, I.V. poles, canes, examination gloves, syringes, pediatric masks, biohazard garbage bags, aduilt pads, drainage kit, air life nebulizer, surgical tray, catheters, injection needles, and many others. //lqg.idcd-pgo//
